The USA Once Land of the Free Home of the Brave - Now Home of the Brave

Land of the Free and Home of the Brave!  Or is it just Home of the Brave?  Are we the Land of the Free?  When you total all the Federal, State and Local Laws and Ordinances the US takes 1st place in the world by a long stretch.  The majority of laws have come in the last 20-30 years.  It's estimated that some 40,000 new laws were passed in 2013.  Combine that with the USA having the highest total number of prisoners and prisoner rate per capita in the world.  Why do we continue to believe we are the Land of the Free?  Something has to give....
